"I was between jobs when I decided to enroll at ComputerTraining.com in the Spring of 2007. I left my previous job because I was not getting any personal satisfaction from my work. I was working at a large family health and fitness center in their business administration department and wearing several different hats every day. When I started that job, I did not have any significant computer experience. What I noticed, while working there, was that I did have an aptitude to pick up on and figure out many of our software and network issues.
I decided to enroll at ComputerTraining.com because I wanted to have a specialty, one focused thing that not only I was good at, but that I enjoyed doing. The past six months have not been easy, but have definitely been worth it. I have learned so many things and also have created a strong network of people that have the same interest as I do. I am definitely an example of “it’s never too late to learn something new!"
Once I became accustomed to the schedule of classes, homework and studying, I decided to take on a part time job to help out a friend who was starting a new division of a financial planning organization. What I have been able to do is parlay that part time job into a full time job now that our classes are coming to an end. The principals of the financial planning organization decided that it was time to have an in-house IT person to manage their network, and there I was! I am very excited to be a part of their team and look forward to going to work every day, a much better feeling than what I was experiencing at my previous place of employment.
I have to say that although these past six months have been extraordinarily busy, I have two very active high school age children, two very active German shepherds, I am involved in a new children’s fitness center that is opening in town. I am very glad that I took the Online Skills Challenge and made the decision to join the class. I now have a focused position in a company that I enjoy working for and get great satisfaction from what I am doing every day."

"I was not happy with what I was doing. I was a bartender and had shifts that last until four in the morning. I knew I did not want this lifestyle forever and I knew I had to get out of bartending and find something that was more stable for my future. I wanted to do something that I could enjoy as a career. So I decided to take the Online Skills Challenge at ComputerTraining.com.
My biggest fear when I enrolled, was being able to keep up with the fast pace and whether or not I would be able to learn all the info I needed to learn in the six months of training. The course ended up being a good pace for me and I highly enjoyed everything I learned. The key was to do everything that needed to be done at home for the course. That kept me on track and kept me up to pace in the class.
Some advice that I felt helped me through the certificates and exams would be to study really hard. I buckled down for two weeks before the exam. The self test questions that were supplied are very useful! They helped me prep myself nicely for the exams. The instructor was a wealth of information. Anything I did not know was clearly explained to me. Do not be afraid to ask questions, that is what helped me understand things I did not get initially.
I started an Information Technology career implementing all the knowledge I’ve learned from the course with a successful company. I am getting paid great money to do what once was only a favorite hobby.
Thank you ComputerTraining.com for all your support!"

"Having worked in the real estate industry for several years and looking for a career change, I was hoping that ComputerTraining.com would help me enter one of the fastest growing industries in the market today.
Having learned the skills needed to pursue a career as an IT professional, I have done just that. Just a few weeks before the classes came to an end, I was hired as a Help Desk Analyst on my second interview with a great company with excellent benefits and perks.
A dedicated individual with a passion for technology and their motivation to change their circumstances can make many doors open with this opportunity. Students definitely need to put in 100% of their effort into the curriculum and focus on their future towards a rewarding career.
ComputerTraining.com was the best decision I could have ever made to start my career in the IT field. I’m starting over again with a new career, and my opportunities for advancement are limitless now thanks to the skills and certifications I have earned through ComputerTraining.com."

"I spent many years working in a career that, despite its financial rewards, lacked personal development or challenge. I just couldn’t see myself doing the same task everyday for the rest of my life. I had worked with computers as a hobby, helping friends and family out with computer problems and such, so I decided it was time to make something happen.
When I first started thinking about the ComputerTraining.com program, I was concerned that it would be too advanced and I would waste my money and come out knowing no more than when I enrolled. The staff assured me that the program was perfect for a career changer, like me, as well as people looking to start a career. The training is intensive and fast-paced, but no more so than they explain when you sign up to take the course.
My advice to anyone thinking about whether or not to enroll is to sit in on a class and talk to the instructor and students. You’ll learn that there is no better way to get certified. Within the six months, I learned everything I needed to know to get certified and more. ComputerTraining.com was great because of the way the classes are presented. The instructor I had is, in my view, one of the best in the business, extremely knowledgeable about every facet of the course and material. He had a genuine sincerity about wanting students to succeed. The classes give you a lot of hands on experience that most other schools don't offer. This gives you a better understanding of how things work, as opposed to just reading about them.
ComputerTraining.com is more than a means to get you certified. They also help prepare you for getting a job. The Career Services department is amazing. Helping with resumes, establishing contacts with major companies, grooming, and interview prep are all part of the services offered.
With the skills and knowledge I have now, my future is wide open. I can pursue any IT position and know that I can accomplish my goals."

"I found it very hard to find a position in IT without my certification. I was in IT for a while but I was in a rut. I could not get employed anywhere without my certification and my past experience from the Philippines was not considered to be an advantage here. I decided to come to ComputerTraining.com to get certified.
I learned an extremely large amount of information while I was here. I have a background in this information, and found that I still learned even more! The instructor was a wealth of knowledge. But the most important that I can tell prospective students are that you have to take the class seriously. The main structure was there and offered me all the hints I needed to unlock the information. The information was all there, you just had to study hard, re-read the information, listen, asked questions.
Now I am a Support Analyst doing exactly what I learned from ComputerTraining.com. I enjoy my job very much and I look forward to the things ahead of me. Out of 7,000 people throughout Verizon, 48 people made it! I was one of them because of the knowledge I gained here at ComputerTraining.com!"

"I had always been interested in working with computers and considered a change to better my career, so I decided it was time to make something happen. Before starting at ComputerTraining.com, I really wasn't sure what I wanted to do, but I knew I needed a career change and I had thought about getting Microsoft Certified for a long time. When I heard the commercials on the radio for ComputerTraining.com, I thought I would see what they had to offer.
When I first came to ComputerTraining.com I had a good knowledge of computers and Windows, but no certifications to back my personal experience. I needed a way of getting the education I needed but I had no plans of going to college. ComputerTraining.com was the best way to start my career. The first few weeks seemed easy, but I soon learned that there was a whole lot I didn’t know. At times it was hard to take in all the information that was presented, but the instructor and all the other class members were always happy to help out. With hard work, help from the friends I made, and my instructor’s devotion to my education, I made it work.
I have to admit, going back to school seemed overwhelming at first and I had my doubts. Students will likely find that most of the other students have the same concerns that about taking the step. My biggest fear was that I would not be able to absorb all the material presented in the course. I was also worried about taking the exams, but my instructor presented the material well and the reading covered each subject thoroughly. Students should be sure to attend all classes and allow enough time to read and study. Stay focused and apply yourself, don’t allow yourself to become distracted.
ComputerTraining.com opened the door to the endless possibilities and challenges a career in computers can be. I feel I can overcome any obstacle to pursue my goals in the future."

"My interest in computers started about ten years ago. Like most, I used my first PC for some form of home entertainment. I have always had a fascination with old movies and I got it into my head to take a screen shot from an old movie and use it as wallpaper for my desktop. Well one thing led to another and before long I was editing videos on my computers. Networking and troubleshooting problems came easy to me and after several years of debating I decided to get certified.
Making the decision to enroll with ComputerTraining.com did not come easy, however. After all I was fifty-five years old and changing careers at my age was not an easy matter. Just the thought of going back to school scared me to no end. I also had a very good paying job. However I was not very happy. So I took on the challenge. It took a lot of flexibility on my part. Finding the time and the discipline to read and study was very difficult for me. But before I knew it six months had gone by and I had completed the course.
The most frustrating part of my career change was finding a job. I could not find any positions that did not require previous experience. And I could not afford to take too drastic a cut from my present salary. I'm sure that my age was a drawback, after all why hire a fifty-year plus applicant requesting a $50,000 plus salary when you can hire a much younger person for a lot less? I must have sent out about twenty resumes a day, everyday for five months. I went on over a dozen interviews from Philadelphia to New York City. There were times when I just wanted to quit. However, thanks to my Director of Placement from Career Services in Bensalem, I plowed on. She would call or write about everyday and ask how things were going, make suggestions or send me leads for me to follow up on.
Finally things started to come together. One of the leads she had sent followed up with me. After all my interview experience I knew what to say. I was up front and told them where my position was in the job market and what I wanted. They were fine with my needs and had me come down for an interview. Now I have a Network Administrator position for a trucking company in New Jersey. What I have learned from this whole experience is to never stop from going after what you want because there will always be someone out there willing to give you the chance."

"My experience with computers has ranged from playing with personal computers as a teenager to studying computer science in college, to working with networks at my previous job. I began thinking about getting my certifications after having conversations with a few IT professionals I know. They all seemed to truly enjoy what they are doing, and I wanted that satisfaction from my job. The career I was in was not providing me with room for advancement and was lacking the excitement I look forward to when I go to work.
I am very excited about starting my new career. The company that I am working for is doing cutting edge work. Even though I am going to have to continue to learn at my new job, I feel confident that the skills I have learned at ComputerTraining.com are going to serve me well.
I wasn’t fearful about entering the program at ComputerTraining.com because I believed in myself. I knew coming in that I wanted a better life and a new career. If you have this attitude, the staff at ComputerTraining.com will work just as hard as you to achieve your goals. Take advantage of all the resources they offer, they are excellent.
This experience has helped me to grow as a person both personally and professionally. It was refreshing to feel like I was in control of education, not just along for the ride. The fact that I was into my career before I had even completed the program speaks for ComputerTraining.com’s quality. With a focus on your goals and hard work, you will be rewarded at ComputerTraining.com."

"I had been using a home computer for about five years, and began writing again. Basically, I had never applied computer skills until I started managing my own websites for the sale of my newly published book in 2006. I have an extensive background with Microsoft Word including Excel, Power-Point and basic writing and publishing skills.
After many years in Retail Management plus a tremendous amount of hours worked on a salaried pay, I decided to take a break from work for awhile. It became quite difficult for me to take various jobs only to make ends meet. After my experience in the publishing world, I found it very difficult to maintain a proper salary to meet all my financial responsibilities.
While still writing, I found myself enjoying the use of my home computer so much more, but felt I needed to gain more knowledge to pursue a career on this path. Being forty-five, I also needed to look at my future in regards to long-term employment and retirement options.
I was spending a total of twelve hours a day on my PC and decided I could actually do something productive with this time. After exploring various educational facilities, I took the Online Skills Challenge and that was a turning point in choosing ComputerTraining.com for my education.
The education I received at ComputerTraining.com was very positive for me. My instructor and career placement counselor were very helpful and always willing to go that extra mile to be sure I understood the applications and procedures I was taught.
With only a ninth grade education and a GED, I had second thoughts. Being at a later stage in my life, I sort of felt left out of the loop. Being dyslexic and having AHAD, I had begun feeling I wouldn’t become employable if I continued on in the present state.
I worried about how to pay the tuition, which felt like a huge obstacle. Fortunately, through the resources ComputerTraining.com provided during the sign up process, I was able to secure a student loan with SallieMae which made my education possible, as well as easy to repay and maintain.
ComputerTraining.com has given me the educational tools to work toward a new career, while easily accessing various employment opportunities, as well as working toward becoming independent and employable.
I am happy to say I now can operate a network of computers and apply all the necessary tools and applications I have learned in class. I am proud to say I am back in the workforce again and enjoying my job more than any other position I’ve ever had!
I would urge students to stay focused and to ask questions when you have difficulty. Make this education your main priority until the six month period ends and complete the required work. Graduation is a reward in itself! The program really works if you apply yourself. I feel a strong support system of family and friends is a major factor as well.
I’m very happy with my new position at a major web-hosting company. The hours are great, the flexibility and work environment are more relaxed than any position I’ve ever held. The salary is quite sufficient for me and there is room for advancement within the company. I now have stability, satisfaction, and a feeling of accomplishment, and that feels good!"

"At
27 I had already been laid-off from two jobs for extended periods
of time. One was in Audio/Visual Displays and the other in a
Transportation Brokerage. After the second lay-off I decided that I
really needed a change. I had heard the commercials for
ComputerTraining.com on several different radio stations and
took the first steps to my certifications by taking the Online
Skills Challenge. After scoring well, I came in the next night
for the free seminar at the center with an open mind. I
was so impressed with the presentation that I decided this was
what I wanted. I have always enjoyed working with computers (since Commodore
64) and realized that this was my destiny.
As the type of person that doesn't
rush into things, I researched several other schools in my area.
However they were looking for a two-year commitment. I already had
a college degree and didn't have that much time to invest to go,
essentially, back to college. The six
month training course at ComputerTraining.com was perfect for
me. A couple weeks later I enrolled for the next
session and my new life was off and running.
My
instructor was great! He taught us the material so well that I
was the second MCSE in the class and the first with my CCNA
certification. He taught us what was in the book, but
also from his extensive professional experience as well. The
material that he presented to us kept me challenged and helped
to prepare me for the "real world."
Shortly before
graduation I was offered a position as a junior trainer for
ComputerTraining.com to which I gladly accepted. This position
allowed me to mentor to the new batch of students while honing
my own skills in the classroom to benefit their learning
environment. Because of this position I was able to practice
more and will be upgrading my MCSE certification in the next
year.
After graduation I was offered
a part-time position in IT from a friend of mine. Using that
experience I have moved on to a full-time position as a Senior
Client/Server Technician in a fairly large company with several
locations and hundreds of end-users. I
now work with great people, for a great company that has great
benefits and, most importantly, a great salary with many
opportunities for advancement.
Because of
the training I received at ComputerTraining.com, I no longer
have a job... I have a career!"
